After a week at work, where I felt as though I had upset someone on a daily basis, I was ready for the weekend. Before mentioning the weekend I must say that upsetting people (sometimes called speaking your mind) is definitely a quality I have inherited from my dad. The trip into the city to sort the bank things out went without any major problems. We even had time to call into Costa to have a coffee. Once my mother in law was safely back home I decided to drive over to visit my mam. Always an event and this time I wasn't asked to move furniture!! Unlike normal Saturdays when I collapse in the chair after a hectic day of shopping, I thought I would spend the rest of the day indoors. This also helped to keep my wife company who is off work.
Sunday I took the girls to church. People go to church for lots of different reasons; one of mine is a nice cup of coffee after the service. I always try and sit as close to the door as possible so I can get into the hall first. It's easy to get a complex when you are first into a room, This is because everyone has a particular table they will sit at and certain people they will sit next to. I don't know how many years I will have to go before I am classed as one of those people but I will live in hope. This morning a friend introduced me to her mam (I think she just didn't like the thought of me sitting on my own). her mam turned out to be a retired primary school SENCO so you can only imagine the discussion. Where ever you go you always find that teachers always talk about teaching.  The conversation must have good because I only managed to have one cup of coffee; we did waste nearly an hour discussing the state of special needs provision in the entire education system!! I took the hint to leave when the table was dismantled in front of us. An afternoon of ironing and I am now waiting for Miss Marple to start and the children to fall asleep. Next week brings a change to my routine. I will actually have to do some teaching!!
