When I got to the salt and pepper aisle I remembered in time that my dad had dropped off an electric salt and pepper mill. A box of each in the trolley and I was already looking forward to assembling the gadget at home and pressing the button. I know! I've been called it many times. As we pushed the trolley passed the tissues my eldest informed she would like some tissues to put in her school bag. She found a suitable packet and informed me I owed her fifteen pence. When I asked her why she told me that the tissues were fifteen pence cheaper so if I gave her the money she had saved me, she could buy something else. The intricate workings of the female mind will always remain a mystery to men.
The wisdom of my mother-in-law is such a wonderful thing. I had just finished packing my shopping to find I had forgotten the washing up liquid. I had many options open to me. I could have dashed back to the aisle and grabbed a bottle or I could have got the assistant to run back for me. My mother-in-law suggested a third! She could pour some of her new bottle into her empty one and water it down. I hadn't realise that it goes a lot further this way! I decided to go for option four; do without and add it to the on line shop. Problem solved.
The new gadgets are now assembled and take pride of place on the bench. They come a close second to the 'man' cupboard, that has the spare light bulbs organised into neat piles!
Happy Tuesday readers.
