Costa and Cathedral Visit.
The morning started off well. The girls enjoyed swimming. We drove over to Marks and Spencer to pick up some school uniform and had an inspirational thought. Why don't we visit the Cathedral and have a walk though the city? We were in need of some calm surroundings and some space to reflect. Whatever your beliefs I always find that a church is the perfect surroundings to help you to gather your thoughts and take some time out from the world around you. The trick to taking photos inside the cathedral is not getting caught. It went very well to start with but the eagle eyed person on door duty caught me trying to take the last one. I did have a quick look for a comment card to pass on how impressed I was by his quick actions but none to be found. I will have to be more subtle next time! We followed this up with a visit to the Heritage Centre. Very good and well worth a visit. We usually call in as the girls are collecting small magnetic people who would have lived in a castle. I am sure you know exactly what I am talking about!! The staff suggested we pay a visit to the Roman display next to the Gala. Again it was very good. Recently found remains of Gladiators from York are on display. The girls loved the descriptions of how they were killed. Decapitation was the best. They found all the lions and came away happy with a balloon and sticker. If only they stay as easily pleased as that for ever. Our usual visit to Costa before we left and then home to watch Horrid Henry. On reflection it was excellent start to the weekend
