Is it Christmas yet?

I don't know who came up with the idea of booking exams in for the last week of term. Next week is going to very busy. We should be easing off and winding down for Christmas not making more work for ourselves. I am sure everything will run very smoothly and on Friday afternoon we can put our feet up and look forward to the holiday!! At the minute everyone in the department is so tired we could really do with breaking up this Friday. I think next week will need lots of treats to get everyone through
The main dilemma at the moment though is what do I buy my mam for Christmas. Normally I would buy her a bottle of single malt but checking them this year all the prices seem to have gone up. What was an affordable thing last year has turned into an expensive luxury. If anyone can think what I would buy the woman who has everything then let me know.
On Monday our estate roads were covered in ice and the car suffered a small bump against the kerb. Thankfully only the car was damaged and will be repaired in time for Christmas. We are managing with one car but you don't fully appreciate something until you have to manage without it.
