Fine red wine and trifle!

I am sure that it wont be a surprise to you that the first week of the holidays went very quickly. So quickly that I can not remember it taking place. the second week has been a little more sedate. The week started with a very nice service. The highlight had to be sampling a cup of coffee made by Adam. For someone so young he does have a way with the tea spoon. Don't get me wrong, the service was fine and David and Alison delivered well but it always nice to get together for a good cup of coffee and a biscuit to dunk. I enjoy having a gossip with some friends afterwards.
Monday was the day the bedroom had to be painted. The trouble with modern living is that you never get time to do simple things around the house. When you do get round to them the job always takes longer than you would have hoped. The paintwork in the bedroom had been neglected for to long. We decided that everything should be done, including fitting a new light. Well after two days and a lot of effort it is finished. I do have a small amount of gloss still to do but I will do that at a later date. During the clearing I came across a box of school year books. They were from the first school I taught in. West Park in Hartlepool was a lovely place to start a career and I have lots of really happy memories of my time. I sometimes think that I should have stayed. My mam always tells that things happen for a reason. If I hadn't moved then I would not be teaching in FE and that is where I wanted to be.
Today we visited the Discovery Museum in Newcastle. It was  a very good day out and lots for the girls to do. Plenty of hands on activities and a place to eat a packed lunch, well worth a visit if you are in the area.
recently on Twitter I started to follow @BigBearF1. Having just the Army he is now looking for a job. I urge you to follow him or even have a look at the website http://kartforce.org. He is based in the Somerset area.
Tomorrow will see the family visit York. I will post the pictures tomorrow. The wine in the picture is highly recommended.
