The best bit about this week is that it is the last before the holidays. Next week will see the family dust off the caravan and pack the holiday clothes clothes for a week in glorious Bridlington. There is always something appealing about having a holiday at the seaside. I just hope the weather is nice to us.
Sunday saw the family take part in a brilliant service at church. It was led by a friend of ours who, in my opinion, is a gifted and inspirational preacher. My part involved me being blindfolded and making a dessert under the guidance of my youngest. Apart from a couple of times getting the sauce over my fingers, it wasn't a bad effort and was eaten at the end. The important message that I came away with was I need to be more tolerant of others. My main weakness, and I only have the one, is that I should be understanding to others.
Saturday will see me take delivery of a new bike. I have signed up to Government's scheme of bike ownership and will embark on a fitness campaign to beat all others. That's what I would like to think. the reality is that it has taken this long for my leg to adjust to having a bionic knee fitted that I need to do something. I have set myself the target of being able to cycle from coast to coast, next Easter. We will see how I get on. Even if I just succeed in losing some weight and getting fitter it will be enough for me.
On Sunday I paid a long overdue visit to see mu mam and dad. It wasn't the vist I had expected as I was greeted with a copy of their new will, as I walked in. I half expected to be written out of it ( I was threatened at Christmas) but I was pleased to find it was an idle threat by my mam!
